Alabama Basketball faces familiar opponent

The Alabama men’s basketball team will face a familiar face outside of the league this season.

According to Blake Byler of BamaCentral, Alabama will face Arkansas State on November 8, making it the last unknown game on Alabama’s non-conference schedule.

For the second consecutive year, former Alabama assistant coach Bryan Hodgson will return to Tuscaloosa to coach a game against his former team. Last season, Hodgson and the Red Wolves played against the Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa, and Alabama won the game 89-65.

Hodgson spent four seasons in Tuscaloosa, joining Nate Oats from Buffalo. He took over as head coach at Arkansas State after the 2022-2023 season. In his first season as head coach, Hodgson posted a 20-17 record and reached the Sun Belt Championship Game. In his first season, he was one win away from qualifying for the NCAA Tournament.

If all reports are correct, Alabama’s non-league schedule is complete and should be one of the toughest in the country.

Alabama’s non-conference schedule currently looks like this.

11/04 – against UNC Asheville
11/08 – against Arkansas State
11/11 – against McNeese
15.11. – @Purdue
20.11. – against Illinois (Birmingham)
