2 charges filed in drug bust linked to fentanyl trafficking in Peabody, Salem: Police

PEABODY, MA — A joint Peabody and Salem police investigation into drug trafficking on the North Shore, which Peabody police say is “far from over,” resulted in the indictment of a Lynn man and a Peabody man in Peabody District Court this week.

Police said the suspects were arrested Tuesday. Sterling Cuello-Soto, 31, of Lynn, is charged with fentanyl trafficking and drug trafficking, and Thomas Gallant, 38, of Peabody, is charged with drug possession and trafficking.

Both are scheduled to appear in Peabody District Court on Thursday.

“The arrests came after a comprehensive investigation and demonstrated the commitment and cooperation between the Peabody and Salem Police Departments in combating the serious problem of drug trafficking and distribution in the community,” Peabody police said in a news release. “The investigation is far from over.”

“We are carefully reviewing additional evidence and additional charges may be filed.”
